« A fabulous journey through the Médoc peninsula »

Day 1 -> Bordeaux (0 Km - 0 Miles)
According to your means of transport and your arrival time in Bordeaux, we will take you to your first accommodation. We will provide you with all necessary documents and equipment in order to start your stay in the best possible conditions. On your first evening, you will enjoy the magnificent city of Bordeaux and dine in the restaurant of your choice.

Day 2 -> Bordeaux - Margaux (35 Km - 22 Miles)
The low mileage of this day will allow you to enjoy Bordeaux before taking off to Margaux. You will head north and pass the splendid modern building of La Cité du Vin, inaugurated in May 2016. You'll be cycling along the banks of the Garonne and will quickly reach the Médoc region.

Day 3 -> Margaux - Saint-Christoly (45 Km - 28 Miles)
You're on the Wine Route now! This second stage will take you through the legendary Médoc vineyards. All along the way, you will have the opportunity to admire the prestigious châteaux that have contributed to the fame of this great wine region: Margaux, Pichon-Longueville, Latour, Mouton Rothschild, Lafite Rothschild, Beychevelle, Cos d'Estournel etc ... The list is long but the pleasure is immense! You will get a well-deserved rest in Saint Christoly-de-Médoc, at the end of this day rich in emotions.

Day 4 -> Saint-Christoly - Soulac (50 Km - 31 Miles)
During this leg of your trip you will experience a change of scenery as you cycle from the vineyards to the ocean. The transition will be smooth if you bike along the Gironde estuary. You will discover unusual landscapes, small harbors full of charm, and if you take the trouble to make a detour to the Phare Richard, you will have a bird's eye view of this remarkable region. At the end of the day, the picturesque brick villas of Soulac-sur-Mer will welcome you. Brick buildings are rare in this region but, from an aesthetic point of view, they give a very interesting touch. However, Soulac isn't just a pleasant town, it's also a seaside resort where you can discover the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean and distinguish from afar the silhouette of the famous Cordouan lighthouse, classified in Unesco's heritage sites.

Day 5 -> Soulac-sur-Mer - Hourtin (50 Km - 31 Miles)
Today's itinerary will take you to Hourtin by following the bike path "Vélodyssée" which runs along the French west coast. On the way, you can have a rest on one of the many sand beaches and bathe in the Atlantic waves. In hot weather, you will hear the deafening song of the cicadas when you pedal among the maritime pines that cover the great Landes Forest. When you arrive in Hourtin, you can make a stop either on the shores of the largest lake in France or on the ocean beaches.

Day 6 -> Hourtin - Lacanau-Océan (40 Km - 25 Miles)
Your journey ends in Lacanau-Océan. To get there, you have two possible routes from Maubuisson, at the end of the Hourtin-Carcans lake. The coastal path will lead you easily to Lacanau-Océan. It follows the ancient German roads built during World War II. Made of narrow concrete plates, sometimes in poor condition, they are however not devoid of charm. If you choose to follow the inlandtrack, you will enjoy beautiful hilly landscapes and can make a stop in the Etang de Cousseau nature reserve. The hilly terrain of this cycle path makes it the sportiest part of this circuit. You will finally reach Lacanau-Océan, a lively seaside resort from where, at the end of the day, we will pick you up for a return to Bordeaux where you will spend your last night.
